We are very grateful to everyone who helps Greyhound Compassion. We have a small band of very effective helpers who give up their spare time to support us in the most innovative ways.
We are lucky to have people who sell at car boots, table-top sales, village fetes; hold lunch parties, sponsored walks, tombolas and open-house events; collect and sell second-hand goods; volunteer at our jumble sales and flag days; give talks about their own field of interest and then donate the fee to Greyhound Compassion.
In 2014, we launched an appeal for the Scooby ‘ambulance’. Thanks to your support we raised £4500 which will buy the ambulance and its equipment. This is a major step forward in tackling the careless abandonment of galgos.
We have also been very fortunate to benefit from a corporate charitable matching initiative. One of our members appealed to their employer to match the funds she raised at one of her events and they approved as part of their corporate social responsibility. This was a big and unexpected help to our finances. If your employer has a similar scheme, please do think of Greyhound Compassion.
Our work would be impossible without our supporters and we are very grateful for their immense commitment. Lists of “thank yous” are always dangerous because the risk of leaving someone out is very real.
So “thank you” to absolutely everyone who has contributed to the work of Greyhound Compassion over the last year!
Here’s to a happy, healthy and succesful 2015!
